Call Account migration

SBS Bank has made the decision to close the Call Account product from November 2025.

We’re focusing our efforts on streamlining our products and services to best meet Member’s needs, which is why we’re simplifying some of our offerings. SBS Bank has made the decision to close the Call account product from November 2025.

What does this change mean for me?

Your Call account will be automatically migrated to a new i-Save account from November 2025. Your balance, any interest earned, and any payees or automatic payments will be transferred for you.

To get the most out of your new account, we encourage you to sign up for Internet Banking, it’s the easiest way to manage your savings anytime, anywhere.

You can also call us on 0800 727 2265 from 7am until 9pm on Monday to Friday, or 10am to 4pm Saturday and Sunday.

Have we already sent you a temporary password?

If you’ve already spoken with us and received a temporary password, you’re all set. Just click the ‘Log in’ button at the top of the page and follow the prompts. If the password isn’t working, call us again on 0800 727 2265 and we’ll send you a new one.

Don’t have an SBS Bank account?

  • If you have an SBS Visa credit card but no SBS Bank account, please use this page instead to register for Internet Banking.
  • If you don’t have an SBS Bank account or credit card, please go to the Join Us page to get started.
You can find this six-digit number on the front of your SBS EFTPOS Card or the back of your SBS credit card.

Why is the bank making this change?

The change is part of our ongoing efforts to simplify our product suite and ensure we're providing the right products to better meet Member’s needs.

When will the migration happen?

The migration will begin mid-November 2025.

Do I need to do anything to complete the migration?

Your balance, account number, any interest earned, and any payees or automatic payments will be transferred for you. To get the most out of your new account, we encourage you to sign up for Internet Banking, it’s the easiest way to manage your savings anytime, anywhere.

Will my account number stay the same?

Yes, your full bank account number will be moved from your Call account to your new iSave account.

What will happen to the interest I've already earned?

Any interest you've earned up to the migration date will be credited to your account as usual. After the migration, interest will continue to be calculated and paid out according to the terms of the new account.

Will I continue to receive paper statements?

No, you can see your account history via Internet Banking. If you are not currently signed up for Internet Banking, please call us on 0800 727 2265 or complete the form on this page to register for Internet Banking and we’ll be in touch to finalise the setup.

Can I opt out of this change and keep my Call Account?

Unfortunately, the Call account is being phased out, so it won't be available after the change. However, we'd be happy to discuss alternative products that might meet your needs.

How does the interest rate on the new account compare to my current account?

i-Save currently offers an interest rate 0.05% higher than your Call account. The exact rate can be found on our Rates page.

What other options are available if I want to earn interest on my money?

We have several other products that might meet your needs, depending on your savings goals and how you plan to use the funds, such as our term investments and we also have SBS Wealth Managed Funds, available on our Investment and financial advice page.

Will there be any fees or charges associated with the migration?

No, there will be no fees or charges associated with this change. 

What happens if I have a regular deposit set up for my Call Account?

The bank account number won't change. The regular deposit will automatically be redirected to the new account. 

What will happen to my payees or payments linked to my Call Account?

These will be transferred to the new account. 

Will I continue to be able to make cash deposits to my account?

Yes, you will be able to make cash deposits to your new i-Save account.
