COVID19 - Change in Alert Levels (updated Sunday 3 October)
Following this afternoon's announcement on alert level changes, we wanted to let you know how SBS will operate to support our Members as Hamilton and Raglan move to Alert Level 3 from 11:59pm on Sunday (3 October).
SBS Hamilton Branch will be open on Tuesdays and Thursdays only from 10am - 12pm under Alert Level 3.
All other SBS branches will be open every weekday at their normal times.
Please note, during Alert Level 3 our Hamilton Branch opening hours are for urgent over-the-counter transactions and hardship-related support only. Please do not visit the branch unless absolutely necessary as we want to look after the health of our branch visitors and team during COVID-19. If it is not essential for you to visit the branch please look to use the other banking and support options available as listed below.
Please remember that when visiting any SBS branch all public health orders must be followed, including the use of facemasks and 2 metre physical distancing.
Contact Centre & Secure Message
Our Contact Centre will be open as usual (weekdays from 7am – 9pm). We expect to be experiencing higher call volumes than usual as we help our Members, so we thank you in advance for your patience. You can request a call back and we will work through those in chronological order. You can also send a Secure Message through Internet Banking.

Scams - be Aware & Safeguard Yourself
To avoid scams, be vigilant and know what RED FLAGS to look out for:
Be wary of cold calls - strangers or unknown, unexpected callers who appear casual and familiar with you
- RED FLAG, end the call & call back using the number on the official website.
Pause and think before sharing personal information, contact and passcode/pin details online or via phone
- RED FLAG unexpected callers & emails. Your bank will never ask you to disclose your pin or login details.
Be Digitally Smart - avoid clicking on site advertisements, links in emails or in random text (SMS) messages
- RED FLAG use sites you trust.
Keep your devices updated and run anti-virus checks
