If an earthquake or volcanic eruption occurs, you’ll receive the actual costs to repair or rebuild your home up to the sum insured listed on your policy schedule above the EQC cover.

If your home is destroyed or damaged by a fire, you’ll receive the actual costs to repair or rebuild your home up to the sum insured.

There are special optional covers available for landlords of rented residential properties:

additional covers

The following additional covers are included:
» Natural disaster damage: You’ll receive the difference between any EQC cover and the cover under your policy if your house
is damaged or a total loss. Cover includes garden and retaining walls, gates, fences, paths, and driveways 
» Hidden gradual damage: Up to $3,000 in a 12 month period for accidental leaks or overflows from internal water or waste
disposal pipes, or a permanently installed water tank 
» Legal liability: If an accident at your home property causes damage to someone else’s property, up to $2,000,000, including legal costs and expenses for any one event
» Rural Fires liability: Cover for your legal liability under the Forest & Rural Fires Act 1977, up to $2,000,000 for any one event
» Removal of debris: You’ll receive cover for the cost of removing damaged contents from your home. You’ll also receive payment of up to $1,000 to remove tree debris if a falling tree or branch damages your contents.
