Security
At SBS Bank, we are extremely focused on protecting our members' funds and personal information. We continue to access new security threats and are always looking for new ways to improve.
How SBS Bank Protects You
We will never ever disclose your personal information to anyone and our internet banking services have been set up to allow you to enter your own personal customer number and password. Under no circumstances should these these be provided to anyone else (not family members nor SBS Bank staff) and should not be written down anywhere.
Internet Banking Security
If your internet banking password is entered incorrectly three times, access to the service will be blocked. This prevents anyone making miltiple attempts to guess your password. You can reset your password by calling us on 0800 502 442.
If your internet banking is idle for 10 minutes the system will time out and you will have to re-enter your information
Internet Banking Gold - i-guard token
The i-guard token is an additional internet banking safety feature that affords you extra security and peace of mind when transacting on your accounts. The i-guard token is used in addition to your login and password information and will be required if you need to make specific transactions during your internet banking sessions such as setting up a new bill payee or making a one-off payment.
Scams and Fraud
SBS Bank has a designated team that looks after any threats regarding scams and fraud and constantly monitor policies and procedures to help protect your accounts.
SBS Bank Recommendations
- Install anti-virus software on your computer
- Memorise your passwords and never write these down
- Clear your temporary internet files and cache - Every time you open a browser to view a web page your computer stores a local copy of that web page in a temporary file. If the size of the temporary internet files folder becomes too large some display problems may occur. Removing these temporary interet-related files might help resolve this issue.
- Remove SBS Bank from your 'favourites' list so that any updates to our webpages and security features will become more efficient.
- In order for all pages within this site to display correctly please ensure that "cookies" are enabled for your web browser.
- Remember, SBS Bank staff will never ask you for your Member ID and password either by email or on the phone. If you have any questions please phone us on 0800 502 442.
